Meeting Today

[NOTE: Although this website address is technically open/online to all. I have set it to be hidden from Google and all search engines, so it's essentially private, unless someone happens to type in the address, which seems unlikely]

So, I don't know what I did, but I deleted the first post. I think that's ok. I'll do my best to remember what I said, and add to it.
I think this is a good way for me keep you both updated on what I'm working on, and what I'm struggling with.
As well, I hope it will help me keep track of my progress in various projects. I will send emails once every couple days or so, so I don't annoy you too much with emails, but I'll try to add at least a little bit every day.

So today, I have just added to our DropBox folder:

  • CHILS folder - with Ethics and a couple other relevant documents
  • MA Paper - with submitted version, changes I plan on making, and the data behind it
  • A current(ish) CV
  • ____ --> if there's anything you think I should add, please let me know.
Naomi, in terms of our discussion in end of November(ish), here's what I have in my notes:

  • Before I make a doctoral proposal, it's important to figure out a methodology, and test it.
  • I think it makes sense to focus on broadening out the Heritage communities within Sarnia before broadening to include more communities outside Sarnia.
  • I plan on putting together some readings in a Dropbox folder of methodologies and approaches from papers I've liked to find a methodology that's feasible.
  • I think the methodological concerns fall into two large categories: how to conduct the interviews (approach, where to do them, what questions to use, etc.), and how to analyze those interviews (variables, frameworks, etc)
  • ----> if I missed anything, I apologize. Let me know, and I'll add it.
Anyway, that's all. Thank you for your continued and continuous support. I know I'm unusual as a student, and I know a blog is an atypical approach to communication, but I really think being able to see the different posts, will help me feel like I'm making some progress, hopefully.
